Deleting your data

If you wrote to a business that uses the platform

That business decides what is kept about you, and it can delete it at once from its own screen. Ask the business you wrote to. If it does not answer, write to us with the business's name and the number you wrote from; we pass the request to it and follow it up.

If you run a workspace

You can delete without asking us.

• One customer: open the conversation and delete that person's data. The messages, the conversation, the contact record, bookings and tickets go at once.
• The whole workspace: close it in the workspace's settings. For 30 days the closure can be undone; then its records and its search index are destroyed.
• The WhatsApp connection: disconnecting it stops new messages reaching the platform. It does not delete the history, which is deleted as above. You can also remove the platform from the connected apps in your Meta business settings.

If you hold a sign-in account

Write to us from the account's email address and we delete the account. Closing a workspace does not by itself delete each member's sign-in account.

If you used the former public demonstration

Write to us and we delete the conversation, any contact request you sent, and the visitor record.

How to ask us, and how long it takes

Use the phone or the email below. Say who you are and what you want deleted; we may ask for something that shows the request is yours. We answer within 30 days, and tell you if it needs up to 30 days more.

What is not deleted

Three kinds of record stay after a deletion, each for a reason.

• Payment records, because financial records must be kept. They hold no card number, name or address.
• Security and audit records, kept while they are needed for security and for legal claims. They hold an account reference and an internet address, and no message content.
• Copies in backups, until each backup is replaced: 14 days for a copy on the host, and the three encrypted backups kept off it.
